PRINCIPALS
Edward Chisholm
Edward Chisholm, P.E. has over 50 years of experience in the structural design and management of major transportation structures and bridge projects throughout New England, New York and Washington DC. Ed was project manager for the inspection, and rating of over 100 bridges for MassDOT, and he has led the design effort for more than 50 bridges, including two railroad bridges. He has most recently been involved in several bridge design projects under MassDOT’s Accelerated Bridge Program as well as the rehabilitation of the Longfellow Bridge.
Gunadi Karjadi
Gunadi Karjadi, P.E. has over 30 years of engineering experience that includes structural analysis, design of new structures, and renovation of existing buildings. His experience includes multi-story residential buildings and renovations to existing commercial facilities, office buildings and various college campuses. He has also performed structural analysis and design of various pump stations, power plants, and other public infrastructure building projects.
DANIEL DENG
Daniel Deng, P.E. has over 31 years of design and construction experience on highway/railroad bridges and building/facility projects. His engineering experience includes field investigation, structural evaluation, rehabilitation, and new construction. For bridge projects, Dan has performed structural analysis and design for the replacement, rehabilitation, and emergency repairs of bridge structures for single or multi-span steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete superstructures supported on spread footing, pile foundation, and drilled shaft substructures, in compliance with the standard specifications for AREMA, AASHTO, MassDOT, MBTA, and other state transportation agencies. Dan has been trained with NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges and has conducted bridge inspection and live load ratings for MassDOT and MBTA statewide. For building projects, he has performed design and construction engineering services on residential, industrial, health, and maintenance facilities for wood, steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and light gauge metal, in compliance with the Massachusetts State Building Code for gravity, wind, snow, and seismic loads.
KEY STAFF
Edward Barwicki
Edward Barwicki, P.E. has over 45 years of professional experience in the design, repair, and rehabilitation of precast and cast-in-place concrete structures, with an emphasis on large structural elements including parking garages, plaza decks, water treatment facilities, and precast concrete bridge elements. Ed has also performed numerous bridge inspections and ratings for the MBTA, MassDOT and RIDOT. When Lin Associates was charged with design for Logan Airport’s boat and tunnel roadway sections under Boston’s Central Artery master plan, Ed conceived and detailed a column slip sleeve design that enabled pile supported columns for flyover roadways to penetrate the boat construction without leaking, while allowing the boat section to move freely past the penetrating pile supported column. This unique and innovative design was accepted and subsequently implemented in numerous areas of the Central Artery construction.
Michael Lin
Michael Lin has 20 years of engineering and management experience, in addition to summers throughout high school and college working at the company his father founded from the back porch of the family home. Over the years, Mike has served both technical and administrative roles at the company, currently assuming financial management and regulatory compliance responsibilities, as well as overseeing day to day operations.
ANISH KAYIPARAMBIL P
Anish Kayiparambil P, P.E. has over 10 years of engineering experience in structural analysis and design, as well as construction and condition evaluation of various structures, including reinforced concrete, structural steel and light timber building structures, concrete tanks, retaining walls and transportation infrastructure structures. Since joining Lin Associates in 2013, Anish has worked on a number of State Bridge Design and Rating projects as well as Municipal projects of varying size. During an internship in Mumbai, India, Anish gained valuable experience in the design and construction of a pre-stressed concrete-steel viaduct and a cable-stayed bridge. Most recently, Anish has been involved in the Longfellow Bridge Design-Build Rehabilitation project in Cambridge, MA and the new Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station & Enhanced Clarification Facility in Washington, D.C.
